• P. Vitthal is a renowned poet, critic and a columnist. Presently he is working as Assistant Professor of Marathi .
• He is an important post 90’s poet with two significant poetry collections to his credit: ‘Mazya Vartmanchi Nond’ (2011) and ‘Shoony Ek Mee’ He pens the wide range of human experiences including dehumanization, consumerism, changing value system and extreme individualism with high sensitivity and minute observation.
• He regularly writes in newspapers. His columns in various leading newspapers and writings on Maharashtra Government’s web portal  gained much popularity  .
• He edited five books.
• He won many prestigious literary awards and honours  for his contribution in Marathi poetry. His poems are translated in Hindi and English. he participated in various literary festivals including Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Sammelan and events of Sahitya Akademi.
• His research papers and articles are published in many leading Journals and newspapers. He delivered talks as invited guest in Universities all over Maharashtra. And  chaired sessions at various national seminars and Conferences
• He is also a research supervisor for M.Phil and Ph.D. He worked on various important committees of the University including BOS etc
