Summary of Academic Career: |
I completed M.Sc. (Analytical Chemistry) from the Department of Chemistry, University of Pune in 2004 where I worked under the supervision of Dr. A. S. Kumbhar for completion of the M.Sc. project on “Construction & evaluation of iodide selective electrode.” After M.Sc. I joined the Gharada Chemicals (Khed, Chiplun) as Quality Control officer. During Sep 2004 - Feb 2005 I was project assistant in National Chemical Laboratory, Pune on the project entitled “Supercritical water Research Programme … Hydrogenation”. In Mar 2005 I joined Professor Shridhar P. Gejji’s research group for Ph.D. where, I primarily carried out the density functional investigations on the supramolecular host-guest chemistry. I also investigated (i) the importance of the extended hydrogen bonded network in charge transfer process in a quenching agents for free radicals in biological systems and (ii) the conformational analysis in sugar analogues. In Jul 2010 I joined School of Chemical Sciences, SRTM University, Nanded as an Assistant Professor. Presently I am working on (a) synthesis and DFT calculation on the metal free organic (diazaflurene analogue) catalyst in the conversion of CO2 to methanol, (b) synthesis and DFT investigations on the photochemical conversion of the stilbene analogues primarily to cyclic form and (c) analytical method development. During Aug 2012 – July 2014, I was Visiting Researcher (Postdoctoral fellow) at Theoretical Chemistry, Department of Chemistry-Ångström, Uppsala University, Sweden, where I worked under supervision of Dr. Marcus Lundberg on CASSCF/CASPT2 based multiconfigurational core-RAS approach for calculation of the L-edge X-ray Absorption spectra of the transition metal complexes especially to understand the O2 bound heme systems. |
