Aims & Objectives:

Aims:

  1. To promote mental, physical & social well being of students, research scholars, teachers , nonteaching staff and their dependents of this university.
  2. To impart health education to students and employees of this university for better health and prevention of diseases.

Objectives:

  1. To provide outpatient services for students, research scholars, teachers, nonteaching staff and their dependents of this university.
  2. To provide referral services for patients who need specialist treatment.
  3. To arrange ambulance for transfer of patients to the govt. medical college & hospital located within 0.5 KM of university campus.
  4. To arrange periodic specialist consulting services at health centre for students, research scholars, teachers, nonteaching staff and their dependents of this university.
  5. To provide medical assistance to various cultural and sports activities in university campus.

 

History Of Health Centre:

  1. Initially there was only contractual medical officer in the health centre, but latter on full time post Medical Officer is sanctioned by state Govt. of Maharashtra . Now there is one Medical Officer in Health Centre.
  2. In due course of time, one contractual nurse and Pharmacist are recruited in the health centre..
  3. Since establishment, health centre is providing consulting in outpatient services and  medicines free of cost to students, research scholars, teachers , nonteaching staff and their dependents of this university.
  4. Health centre has provided medical assistance to all cultural and sports mega events hosted by university.
  5. Health centre has arranged interactive health education lectures in small groups for students, research scholars, teachers , nonteaching staff and their dependents of this university.

Dental  Check up Camp was arranged at Health Centre inaugurated by Hon. V. C. Pandit Vidysagar. Dr. Punam Shendarkar & Dr. Dhumal were available as Dentist who checked 124 patients. Dr Shendarkar gave speech on dental hygiene and care.

Health education & Anemia treatment camp for Girls Hostel

Health Education and Anemia treatment camp was arranged at Girls Hostel.  Dr. Surwase ( Rector), Dr. Nina Gogate ( Warden ), Mrs Vasundhara Kotgire ( Warden ) were available as Chief Guests. Dr. Surekha Pawar ( Medical Officer ) had given speech on common health problems of girls including anemia, menstrual disorders and nutrition and also answered girls' queries regarding the same. Medicines for prevention of anemia like hematinics, vitamin B Complex were distributed to girls.

State Level Sports Competition “Krida Mahotsav “ was  arranged  in this University which was attended by students all over Maharashtra. Health Centre provided health facilities to these students and treated 1121 students for various sports injuries and diseases. Team of doctors and paramedical staff was outsourced from Govt. Medical College, Govt. Ayurved College, Civil Surgeon and District Health Officer. Four Ambulance were kept ready 24 X 7 during the event.

On occasion of World Health Day Blood sugar & Blood Pressure Check up Camp was arranged in the Health Centre of University which was inaugurated by Hon. VC Dr. Pandit Vidyasagar. Dr. Anshul Singhal and Dr. Mungal S. U. were invited for Blood sugar & Blood Pressure Check up of 256 patients. Speech was given by Dr. Anshul on information on Diabetes.

Organ Donation Awareness Campaign

Organ Donation awareness campaign was a three days program. On 30/08/2016  Organ Donation awareness  Rally was arranged by District Collector , it was participated by Hon. VC Dr. Pandit Vidysagar, Dr. S. M. Pawar (Medical Officer) and 50 students of SRTM Uni. Nanded. On 31/08/2016 Rangoli Competition was arranged on the topic of organ donation, the same was attended by Shri. AshokmKadam (PRO ) as Judge. On 01/09/ 2016 Blood Donation Camp was arranged as part of  Organ Donation awareness campaign, During Blood donation camp35 participants donated blood and 27 participants were registered for organ donation registrat.

 Future Plans:

  1. Health centre is also going to plan periodic health checkups with clinical investigations like hemoglobin, blood group, blood sugar and lipid profile at concessional rates. This will help to early detection of diseases like diabetes, hypertension and heart diseases.
  2. Health centre will be upgraded with purchase of equipments like ECG machine, digital weighing machine, Snellen’s &Jegger’s Charts for visual acuity, Hematology cell counter.
  3. University is planning to sanction contractual post of lab technician and provide various blood investigation services in health centre at minimal rates.
  4. Health centre is planning to begin weekly stress management clinic with the help of honorary psychiatrist.
  5. Health centre is going to maintain health database of all employees of university for ready referral in case of emergencies.
  6. Health centre is planning to publish a booklet on myths and facts about health safety with special emphasis on HIV/AIDs and sexually transmitted diseases.
  7. Health centre is planning to arrange periodic mammography and pap smear camps for female employees at minimal rates for early detection of breast and cervical cancers.
