Brief Bio-data of Teachers

Professor B.C. Barik
Professor B.C. Barikhas his Masters, M.Phil and Ph.D. in Sociology and currently leading the School. He attended three short term courses on Irrigation and Water Management in the Universities of Colarado State and Utah State Universities of USA in 1988. He published five books and 35 articles in the journals of national and international repute. He worked as a consultant to a World Bank Project on Irrigation Management. He is also a managing committee member of Indian Sociological Society. He presented papers in several National and International Seminars / Conferences. He acted as a reviewer for Rural Social Work Journal, Published by the South Australia University, Whyhella Campus, Australia. Prof. Barik worked as a member of several statutory bodies of this University.

Dr. P.M. Katare
Dr. P.M. Katare has his Masters in Social Work and Ph.D. in Sociology. He worked extensively on the social problems of folk artists of Maharashtra, especially, on Artists in “Tamasha and Sangitbari”. He has completed one minor Research project. He was Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee, Nanded District. He has authored two books & brought out edited two, and published three research articles He has carried out one research study on the problems of Pardhi Community and published the research report in one of the reputed Journal of Social Work. He has worked on statutory bodies of this University.

Dr. E.N. Ashok Kumar
Dr. E.N. Ashok Kumar has his Masters in Rural Development and Ph.D. in Sociology. Communication and Social change is the area of his specialization. He worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom. He worked in various development projects funded by the World Bank and other National and International Development Agencies. He published one book and 7 research papers in edited books and Social Science Journals.

Dr. U.C. Sahoo
Dr. U.C. Sahoo has his Masters, M.Phil and Ph.D. in Sociology. Studies on Labour Issues are the area of his academic interest. He has published two books and 17 research papers in the edited books and reputed Social Sciences Journals. He has handled number of research projects on areas of adult literacy, PRI, and Civil Society, etc.

Dr. A.I. Shaikh
Dr. A.I. Shaikh has his Masters degree in Social Work and Ph.D in Sociology. He worked on Industrial Sickness and its Impact on the Workers, for his Ph.D. dissertation. He taught extensively on Labour Welfare and Personnel Management. Dr. Shaikh completed a research project on Women Participation in Self – Help Group. He has authored two books on Social Work and Women Welfare. He has published four articles in reputed Social Science Journals.

Dr. Mr. Pushpesh Kumar
Dr. Mr. Pushpesh Kumar holds his Masters, M. Phil & Ph. D degree in Sociology and is specialized in “ Gender Studies & social Anthropology”. He was been awarded ICSSR institutional doctoral fellowship at the Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi (2004-2006). He has published 5 articles in reputed journals like Sociological Bulletin and Contributions to Indian Sociology and has reviewed 18 books. He has also contributed papers in several national and international conferences and seminars. He is the recipient of M.N. Shrinivas memorial Prize (2007) given to young Sociologist by Indian Sociological Society, New Delhi. His working on a book entitled “Sauma Told Me: Kin & Kinlessness in the life of a Kolam women” and is also carrying out a study on Syncretic Tradition of Gond Tribes in Sourthern Maharashtra.

Miss Usha S. Sarode
Miss Usha S. Sarode, holds her Master’s in Botany and Social Work. She is specialized in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management. Plant Protection and Ecology is another area of her interest. Presently she is working for her Ph.D. on the topic “Displacement and Rehabilitation”. She also attended and presented papers in State and National Level Seminars and Conferences. She has also published a couple of papers in National Level Journals.

Dr. G.S. Yelne
Dr. G.S. Yelne, has his Masters degree in Social Work with specialization in Labour Welfare and Personnel Management and Ph.D. in Sociology. He worked on “Women’s Empowerment through Self – Help Groups” for Ph.D. He worked in various Governmental and Non-Governmental organizations and has been working on the issues pertaining to Rural Development. Dr. Yelne completed two minor research projects on women’s participation in Self – Help Groups and Dalit’s participation in Pancyayat and Governance. Also he is carrying out a Action project called “SHAKTI” for women empowerment an the surrounding villages of University. Also working as a N.S.S. programme officer from last ten years and organised various activities like blood donation camps. Population Health check camp and rural camps etc. And published six research papers in various National level Journals.

Mr. N.B. Bodhgire
Mr. N.B. Bodhgire has his masters degree in Economics with specialization in Econometrics. His interested area for research is Capital Market.

Mr. S.S. Kondekar
Mr. S.S. Kondekar holds his master degree in Economics with the specialization in International Economics. He has worked with N.G.O. Pratham on readining and writing skills of primary school students in rural Maharashtra. He has worked as a coordinator of B.B.M (International Business) course in Indira College of Commerce and Science, Pune. His interested area for research is Urban Governance.
