Special Features

To inculcate research aptitude among campus students, the school organizes One Day Raman Conference for research students every year in the first week of March, as a part of week long Science Day Celebration activity. This event brings all research students of science discipline on a common platform to discuss their research investigations and findings. The activity also nurtures interdisciplinary approach to their research in a true way, since it is a gathering of scholars from all branches of science. The organization of this event is a compulsorily yearly activity of our school since 2004.

The school holds workshops for physics teachers of affiliated colleges, pertaining to syllabus/curriculum development, helps them to design laboratory practical and provides guidance for purchase of such equipment. The faculty members visit colleges to deliver popular lectures in Physics so that undergraduate students get motivated to opt for basic science courses in their further higher education. From the academic year 2007-08, the school is organizing two day intensive workshop for selective students of B.Sc. third year, wherein they will be exposed to (i) potential avenues after earning Physics degree (ii) job oriented opportunities, (iii) topics carried out in R & D National Institute and job vacancies, (iv) Utility of our degree in IT Sector, (v) Soft skill development for students, etc. They will also have hands-on experience of carrying out few laboratory experiments in Fiber Optics, Lasers, Electronics, Observational Astronomy (Image processing), Simulation techniques for Nano-particle systems, etc.
