About The School
The School of Mathematical Sciences, established in 2009, offers M.Sc.
programmes in Mathematics and Statistics with intake capacity of 40 each.
Within a short span of time, School has done remarkable progress. The M.Sc.
course is of two years duration to be completed in four semesters. The school
follows CGPA scheme of assessment, where each student is required to
complete 100 credits in two years with 25 credits per semesters.
M.Sc. (Mathematics) course is a two year degree course with major
emphasis on Algebra, Analysis and Number Theory. M.Sc. (Statistics) course is
of two years duration with major emphasis on Operations Research, Industrial
Statistics, Agricultural Statistics and Actuarial Sciences.
Apart from regular class room teaching, the School is offering
SET/NET/GATE guidance to students. Remedial coaching is provided to
weaker students. Much attention is given on student’s personality development.
This makes them bold enough for facing interviews in different corporate
sectors. The project work is basic component of both the courses.
