Research & Extension

The School has identified Groundwater, Environment, Geophysics, seismology and Geochemistry as thrust areas of the research. Environmental pollution including water, air and soil, monitoring and evaluation studies is being carried out in and around Nanded city.

The school also actively participates in the earthquake monitoring studies in this area. Several Ph.D.s have been awarded in the Fields of Geomorphology, Remote sensing, Pollution aspects, Water Quality Studies and Environmental Impact Studies, geophysics and geology. Few Sponsored research projects are completed in the areas of Environmental pollution aspects in and around, Nanded, Seismotectonics of the Killari region and Prakasham Alkaline provence, Eastern Gfhat Belt etc.

School teachers have shifted their research approach from quantitative to qualitative in terms of publishing papers which is reflected in incremental growth of Impact Factor. Many important research papers are being published in thrust areas mentioned above.

School is funded by DST under FIST scheme.

The school got UGC grant of Rs. 50 lakhs under Innovative program to start the PG diploma course in Geoinformatics from the academic year 2010-11.

Research Project: School has completed four projects and raised more than Rs. 35 lakhs. There is one on-going project and five projects are submitted for funding.

Quality Ph.D./Research Work: So far 15 students have completed their Doctorate from the School and more than 29 students are registered for their Ph.D.
