Sanitation Programme:

On occasion of International Cleanliness Year 2008 and completion of 40 years for NSS Foundation, the NSS Dept of SRTMU Nanded took initiative in sanitation work at village level. Accordingly (36) villages are covered in Nanded district, (20) in Parbhani, (19) in Hingoli and (34) in Latur dirstrict respectively. This activity helped in the work of cleanliness of villages and in receiving state and National Level awards for number of villages. This is the noble work completed under NSS.

State Level conference of Senior citizens:

The federation of senior citizens of Maharashtra had organized State Level Camp at Latur. NSS volunteers took active participation in planning and helped them, specially old senior citizens who were not able to climb staircase on their own and those who were weaker.

Guru-Ta-Gaddi Porgramme:

The great Granth Saheb Guru completed 300 years in 2008. On occasion of this event a big ceremony at international level was organized by the shik community and Govt. of India in the Nanded city. The devotees of Guru Gobind Singhji were came from all over the world and visited the well known sacred place Gurudwara. Considering the heavy rush and burden over administrative/Police Dept., NSS Prog. Officers and students volunteers more than 500 together rendered valuable services and helped in smooth functioning of this ceremony nearly a month duration.. Therefore organizers and Police Dept. arranged a Special Programme and issued certificates of appreciation to all volunteers.

Road Traffic Control:

In order to observe silent moving of vehicles on the road and minimize the accident, numbers, NSS Dept organized a special workshop for college students with the support of Police Dept. in various college NSS units.

Akshay Urja:

To save the electricity NSS created an awareness in the society to use solar energy and proper equipment for that. Through Akshay Urja Rally the message of save electricity was spread in the society.

Workshop for controlling Chikun-Guniya:

Chikun Guniya was a serious problem in the society . To control it NSS had taken initiatives for the awareness in the society by conducting various workshops & programs.
