SAARC Countries
The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) is an
organization of South Asian nations, founded in December 1985 and dedicated
to economic, technological, social, and cultural development emphasizing
collective self reliance. Its seven founding members are Bangladesh, Bhutan,
India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Afghanistan joined the
organization in 2005.
In this year, we have separate one and half hour session for
mathematicians from SAARC countries. The topic for deliberation will be
“Teaching and Research of Mathematics in SAARC countries”.
We are intending to publish research journal on mathematics with partnership of
SAARC nation mathematicians / universities. Such journal will provide boost to
young researchers, especially from SAARC nations.
